ABOUT THIS PRIVACY POLICY
MapMyIssue ("MapMyIssue", "we", "our", "us") is an independent community platform operated by Motorpark. MapMyIssue enables users to document, discover, discuss and collectively raise awareness about civic and public issues, including road conditions, potholes, infrastructure problems and other issues affecting public spaces.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, protect and otherwise process information relating to users of MapMyIssue. By using MapMyIssue, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires consent for a particular processing activity, we will obtain consent in the manner required by law. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you should not use MapMyIssue or submit information to the Platform.
WHO OPERATES MAPMYISSUE
MapMyIssue is an independent initiative operated by Motorpark. MapMyIssue is not a government platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorised by or operated on behalf of:
- The Government of India

- Any other governmental or public authority, unless expressly stated otherwise
Submitting a report to MapMyIssue does not constitute filing an official complaint, grievance, legal notice or government report. Reports are not automatically forwarded to government authorities unless MapMyIssue expressly states otherwise or disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law.

ELIGIBILITY
MapMyIssue is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. You must not create an account, submit reports or otherwise use account-based community features if you are under 18. If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a person who is not permitted to use the Platform, we may take appropriate steps to delete, restrict or otherwise process that information in accordance with applicable law.

When creating an account, you may provide information including:

Location is an important part of MapMyIssue. When submitting a report, you may manually select a location, search for a location or address, or allow your device to provide location information where supported and permitted by you. Location access is optional unless a particular feature expressly requires it.
If you permit location access, we may use your location to assist you in identifying or submitting the location of a civic issue. The location associated with a published report may be displayed publicly. Users should carefully verify the location before submission and should avoid submitting locations that unnecessarily reveal private residences, workplaces or other sensitive personal information. MapMyIssue may use approximate or otherwise privacy-preserving location information where technically appropriate.

PUBLIC NATURE OF MAPMYISSUE
MapMyIssue is fundamentally a community documentation platform. Information intentionally submitted as part of a public report may become publicly accessible. Depending on the feature and the user's settings, publicly accessible information may include report title, description, photographs, videos, location, date of submission, comments, community engagement, status information, and display name or anonymous attribution.
Public content may be viewed by people who do not have MapMyIssue accounts. Public content may also be shared through social media, linked to by third parties, quoted or referenced elsewhere, screenshotted, copied, cached, archived, indexed by search engines, or reproduced by third parties. We cannot guarantee that content made publicly available through the Platform can be completely removed from the Internet after publication. Accordingly, you should not submit personal, confidential or sensitive information that you would not want to become publicly accessible.
ANONYMOUS REPORTING
Where anonymous reporting is available, you may choose to publish a report without displaying your identity publicly. Anonymous publication means that your identity is not intentionally displayed to ordinary users as part of the public report. It does not mean that MapMyIssue has no record connecting the report to your account.
MapMyIssue may retain information connecting an anonymous report to the submitting account for purposes including security, moderation, fraud prevention, abuse investigation, Platform integrity, legal compliance and responding to valid legal requests. We may disclose such information where required or permitted by applicable law. Anonymous reporting therefore should not be understood as absolute anonymity from MapMyIssue, its service providers acting on its behalf, or competent authorities where disclosure is legally required.
PHOTOGRAPHS, VIDEOS AND OTHER MEDIA
Users may upload photographs and videos to document civic issues. You should upload content only where you have the right or lawful basis to submit it. Media may incidentally contain members of the public, vehicles, vehicle registration numbers, buildings, businesses, public spaces or other identifiable information.
You must not use MapMyIssue to intentionally identify, target, threaten, harass, shame, intimidate or expose individuals. You should avoid uploading close-up images intended to identify individuals, government-issued identification documents, medical records, financial information, private correspondence, passwords or authentication information, images from places where people have a reasonable expectation of privacy, or other unnecessary sensitive personal information.
MapMyIssue may remove, restrict, blur, modify, disable access to or otherwise moderate content where we consider such action appropriate, including where required by law.
USER RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCURACY
MapMyIssue primarily hosts and organises information submitted by members of the public. We do not independently verify every report before publication. Reports, comments, photographs, videos, opinions and descriptions are submitted by individual users and do not necessarily represent the views of MapMyIssue or Motorpark. MapMyIssue does not guarantee that user-submitted information is accurate, complete, current, reliable, verified, unbiased or free from error.
Users remain responsible for information they submit. MapMyIssue may review, restrict, remove, disable access to or retain content where appropriate for moderation, security, legal compliance, Platform integrity or other legitimate purposes.
MODERATION AND PLATFORM INTEGRITY
We may monitor, review or process user activity and content for purposes including detecting spam, preventing fraudulent activity, detecting coordinated manipulation, detecting duplicate reports, preventing harassment, protecting privacy, investigating complaints, enforcing Platform rules, protecting the integrity of community engagement, protecting the security of the Platform, and complying with law.
MapMyIssue may suspend, restrict or terminate accounts or access to features where we reasonably believe that an account or activity violates applicable law, our Terms & Conditions or Community Guidelines, threatens Platform security, involves abuse, fraud or manipulation, or creates a material risk to users or the Platform.
ANALYTICS
MapMyIssue may use analytics technologies, including Google Analytics or other analytics services, where enabled. Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate geographic region, device information, browser information, referral sources, session information and Platform usage patterns. Analytics are used to understand Platform performance, improve functionality, detect technical problems and understand how users interact with MapMyIssue. Third-party analytics providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
MapMyIssue may use cookies, local storage, session storage and similar technologies to maintain secure sessions, authenticate users, remember preferences, provide Platform functionality, measure performance, improve user experience, detect suspicious activity and protect the Platform. Certain technologies may be essential for the operation of the Platform. Disabling cookies or similar technologies may prevent some features from functioning correctly.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICE PROVIDERS
MapMyIssue may use third-party service providers to operate, secure and improve the Platform. Depending on the features enabled, these may include authentication providers, cloud hosting and database providers, mapping and geolocation providers, analytics providers, email providers, security providers, content delivery providers, infrastructure providers and other technical service providers.
These providers may process information on our behalf and may have access to information necessary to perform their services. We may replace, add or remove service providers as the Platform develops and updates further. Where required by applicable law, appropriate contractual, technical or organisational safeguards will be used. Third-party services may have their own privacy policies and terms, which may apply to their processing of information.
DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
We may disclose information where reasonably necessary for the operation, protection or lawful functioning of MapMyIssue. This may include disclosure to service providers acting on our behalf, professional advisers, legal representatives, auditors or insurers where applicable, authorities or law-enforcement agencies where legally required or permitted, courts, tribunals or other competent bodies, parties involved in legal proceedings, or a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets or similar transaction.
We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to prevent fraud, investigate abuse, protect users, protect the public, protect MapMyIssue or Motorpark, enforce our agreements, or establish, exercise or defend legal rights. We will not disclose private account information merely because a private individual, business or organisation asks us to do so without an appropriate legal basis.
EMERGENCY AND LEGAL DISCLOSURES
Nothing in this Privacy Policy prevents MapMyIssue from disclosing information where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to a valid legal process, comply with a court order or lawful governmental request, investigate suspected unlawful activity, prevent imminent harm, protect a person's safety, protect the Platform, protect the public, or establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
Where legally permitted, we may seek to provide appropriate notice before disclosure. However, we may not be able to provide notice where prohibited by law or where doing so could compromise an investigation, legal process, security or safety.
DATA SECURITY
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. Depending on the Platform's architecture and applicable requirements, safeguards may include HTTPS/encrypted connections, access controls, authentication controls, role-based permissions, database security measures, security monitoring, abuse prevention, logging and audit mechanisms, and periodic security improvements.
However, no Internet transmission, database or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, MapMyIssue does not guarantee absolute security of information. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and should notify us promptly if they believe their account has been compromised.
SECURITY INCIDENTS AND DATA BREACHES
If MapMyIssue becomes aware of a security incident involving personal data, we will assess the incident and take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances. Where notification is required by applicable law, we will make the required notifications to affected individuals, authorities or other relevant parties within the applicable timeframes and in the manner prescribed by law. Information concerning a security incident may be retained for investigation, legal compliance, security improvement and record-keeping purposes.
DATA RETENTION
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer period is required or permitted by applicable law. Different categories of information may be retained for different periods. For example:
- Account information may be retained while an account remains active
- Public reports may be retained as part of MapMyIssue's historical community record
- Moderation and abuse records may be retained for Platform security and enforcement
- Transactional or legal records may be retained where required by law
- Security logs may be retained for security and investigation purposes
- Information subject to a legal hold may be retained until the relevant matter is resolved
Retention periods may depend on legal obligations, security requirements, disputes, investigations, Platform integrity and the historical value of public reports.
ACCOUNT DELETION
You may request deletion of your account through the deletion functionality provided on the Platform or by contacting us. Deletion of an account does not necessarily result in deletion of all information previously submitted to MapMyIssue. In particular, public reports may remain available because MapMyIssue is intended to maintain a historical community record.
Where appropriate, reports associated with a deleted account may be displayed without the user's identifying profile information or attributed to "Anonymous". Certain information may be retained where reasonably necessary to comply with law, prevent fraud or abuse, investigate misconduct, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, protect Platform security, maintain evidence, establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or preserve the integrity of the historical public record.
Deletion may therefore be subject to applicable legal, technical and operational limitations.
YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal data, which may include the right to:
- Obtain information about processing of your personal data
- Request access to personal data held about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion where legally applicable
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Nominate another individual where such right is available under applicable law
- Raise a complaint concerning our processing of personal data
Requests may be subject to reasonable verification requirements to prevent unauthorised access to another person's information. Certain requests may be limited or refused where permitted by applicable law, including where information must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution or Platform-integrity purposes.
PUBLIC CONTENT AND DELETION REQUESTS
Because MapMyIssue exists to create a historical community record, deletion of a user's account does not automatically require deletion of every report submitted by that user. If you believe publicly available content reveals unnecessary personal information, violates your privacy, was submitted without appropriate rights, contains unlawful material, infringes intellectual property rights, or creates another legitimate legal concern, you may contact us with sufficient information for us to identify and assess the material. We will evaluate requests individually and take action where required by applicable law or where we otherwise consider action appropriate. Submitting a request does not guarantee removal.
INFORMATION ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE
You must not submit another person's personal information unless you have a lawful basis to do so and the information is reasonably necessary for the purpose of the report. You must not use MapMyIssue to dox individuals, publish private contact information, target individuals, organise harassment, threaten or intimidate people, publish sensitive personal information, or encourage vigilantism.
Where such information is identified, MapMyIssue may remove, restrict, anonymise or otherwise process it as appropriate.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND USER CONTENT
Users retain ownership of original content they lawfully submit to MapMyIssue, subject to the rights and licences granted to MapMyIssue under the Platform's Terms & Conditions. By submitting content, you grant MapMyIssue the permissions reasonably necessary to host, store, reproduce, display, process and distribute that content as required to operate and provide the Platform and its community features. Additional provisions concerning intellectual property, content licences, copyright complaints and user responsibilities are governed by the MapMyIssue Terms & Conditions and Community Guidelines.
THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
MapMyIssue may contain links, integrations or references to third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, availability, content or policies of third-party services. Your interaction with those services is governed by their applicable terms and privacy policies.
INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING
MapMyIssue is operated from India. Depending on the infrastructure and service providers used by MapMyIssue, information may be processed or stored in India or in other jurisdictions. Where personal data is processed outside India, such processing will be subject to applicable legal requirements and safeguards.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to MapMyIssue, new features, changes to technology, changes to our data practices, changes to applicable law, security or operational requirements, or other legitimate business or Platform requirements. The "Last Updated" date will indicate when the Policy was most recently revised. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice of material changes. Your continued use of the Platform after a revised Privacy Policy becomes effective will be governed by the revised Policy to the extent permitted by applicable law.
GOVERNING LAW
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory rights or protections available to users under applicable law. Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to exclude or restrict rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
NO ABSOLUTE GUARANTEES
MapMyIssue takes privacy and security seriously but cannot guarantee that the Platform will always be available, that information will never be lost, that unauthorised access will never occur, that public content can be completely removed from the Internet, that third-party services will always remain secure, that every report will be accurate, or that every privacy request can be fulfilled exactly as requested. Nothing in this Privacy Policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be limited.
